NEW SPEX OPENING
March 2012
We’re coming to BUCKTOWN/WICKER PARK with our newest address at 1407 N. Milwaukee Avenue. Our seventeenth location will reside in the vibrant strip of Milwaukee Avenue between Division Street and North Avenue. Opening date is scheduled for March 2012.
Our new space will feature many of the unique eyewear lines you’ve come to know and expect from Chicago’s ‘best eyewear store.’
ART+VISION: Highland Park Montessori student work
March 2 - April 13, 2012
Highland ParkJoin us at our ART+VISION opening reception with student works from the children at Highland Park Montessori on Friday, March 2 from 6-8pm at 1819 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, IL. A trunk show featuring LAFONT eyewear and sun wear collection will be previewed during the reception; light refreshments and appetizers will be served.
Kat Freeman, art instructor at Highland Park Montessori, showcases the work of her 5- and 6- year old student once again at Spex! Kat leads the Art Discovery experience; her approach focuses on the creative process, self-expression and aesthetic awareness rather than just a finished product. The opening reception will showcase luminous and surprisingly sophisticated canvases created with humble materials like glue, aluminum foil, pencil and ink. In the hands of children the glowing results belie the usual expectations of the materials.
